The first step is to obtain and load a standard image file (JPG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, PNG, etc.). The gel image file can come from a scanner, digital camera, converted PDF file, email, internet, etc. The UN‑SCAN‑IT gel software can accept a variety of image formats for gel quantification.
The UN‑SCAN‑IT gel Software is an intuitive tool for Electrophoresis Densitometry, and for using standard image files to perform gel densitometry on a variety of samples. After defining the regions of interest, the UN‑SCAN‑IT gel will extract a Density Profile.
You can then analyze any of the bands in the sample, determine optical densities, band locations, and create molecular weight and concentration calibration curves. Calibration curves for concentration and/or molecular weight can be calculated using the results spreadsheet features. The gel analysis data can be saved in clipboard or text format, and exported to spreadsheet, data analysis, or presentation programs.
